Elementals
We break down the most commonly known elementals into the four categories of Earth, Air, Fire and Water. These elementals also may expand further into Metals, Lightning, Wood, etc. Many Eastern cultures include these extra elements. For now we will speak of the four most familiar in our Western practice. These beings are often without bodies in a purest of state. They are apart of the energy of the element in its fullest, and will at times show you visions or glimpses of body-like images in their respective element. For example, clouds for Sylph or shapes in a flame for Salamander.
Earth: Gaia/Gnome. The most vast and wide ruling of the elements, it houses many beings including gnomes, dragons, devas, elves, fae, tree spirits, "hobbits" and dryads for example. These beings individually do not always align with this element but are most commonly found to be so. They work through Gaia's energy and magick, harnessing Earth energy as well as nature's energy. The ruler of this element is the entity or Goddess Gaia and is made of many consciousnesses, not limited to one state or form. There are also Immortals "deities" who rule over Earth elements and are in align with Gaia's consciousness. Air: Sylphid or Sylph is the most commonly known spirit of the air. They are of many forms and often of invisible substance and energy form. They can be like that of sprites or fae. This elemental can also expand to elves, fae, dragons, devas, and the like. It is revered by many as the most powerful driving force for its harmony with all existential matter - feeding fire, shaping earth, and moving the waters. Fire: Salamander. They take on many forms like so many entities. They are incredibly powerful and exuberant. They may taken on spritely and playful appearances and range in different levels of power. There are those who are of the great elemental of fire and those who are lesser Salamanders who may server under different entities. They bring an abundance of energy and cleansing. Water: Undine. The Undine may also represent merfolk, water sprites ,fae, etc.. They are beautiful and elegant, often humanoid water-forms. They can be of varying degrees of light and power, some manifesting as blue orbs of light and songs like that of water sirens. They control the waters, seas and marine life. Undines can be categorized as a type of mermaid or deva according to the practitioner. They bring intense wisdom and movement into the life. Some are of lesser forms still known by the same name, Undine, and those of grand power that align to the great overseer elemental of water. |
